About

Clarke Wyatt began studying music at the age of five, pursued music through college, and now performs with partner Betse Ellis as the duo Betse and Clarke, and with Short Round Stringband. Notable past performances include Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival, Augusta Heritage Center, John Hartford Memorial Festival, Walnut Valley Festival (Winfield, KS), Portland Old Time Gathering, St. Joseph Symphony Orchestra (banjo with a symphony, yeah!), official showcase artist at Folk Alliance International 2015 & 2017, Ozark Folk Center with Betse and Clarke and Violet Hensley. Basically, Clarke just loves sharing and learning about music!

His specialties, and areas of expertise include:

  • Plays fingerstyle old time banjo as well as bluegrass and contemporary approaches
  • Teaches workshops and private banjo, piano, and music theory lessons
  • Teaches to all right hand techniques: two finger, three finger, and clawhammer
